BIOGRAPHY
Amy is a freelance writer living in Mississauga, Ontario.
Her eclectic interests have led her to write about such diverse topics as the Ultimate Fighting Championships, the siege of Sarajevo, chess, and the possible existence of Heaven.
Amy graduated summa cum laude from McMaster University with an honours degree in the prestigious Arts & Science Programme. She also has a Master of Arts in English from McMaster; a Bachelor of Education from the University of Western Ontario; an Ontario Teacher’s Certificate; and le troisième degré from L’Inistut Savosien D’Etudes Français, France.
Before going freelance, Amy spent eleven years as a technical writer for the Ministry of Transportation writing policy and procedure manuals for internal staff and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing offices. She was also senior editor for the number one best-selling book in Ontario – the Driver’s Handbook!
Amy has travelled solo through Europe, crossed Mexico by bus, hiked Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island, and cycled the back roads of Cuba. Lately, Amy has been traveling only in her imagination, since she and her husband, Dan, now have two sons. When she is not making clay monsters, playing rescue heroes, or doing laundry, Amy can be found writing, reading a novel, or watching foreign films.
